Rename Tags
===========

The Rename Tags tool allows you to rename tags in bulk by uploading an Excel file with the new tag names. This ensures efficient and accurate updates to your tag names.

Before uploading the data, ensure that your Excel file is in the required format so the system can interpret the data correctly.

.. tip:: Use the |download| **Download Rename Tags Template** button on the **Tools: Rename Tags** pane to generate an Excel template in the correct format. Update the template as needed with the new tag names.

To rename tags in bulk, follow the steps below:

1. Choose :menuselection:`Configuration --> Data Management --> Tools --> Rename Tags` from the menu.
2. Click **Choose File** on the **Tools: Rename Tags** pane, navigate to the file that contains the new tag names, and open it.
3. Click |rightarrow| **Rename Tags** to initiate the renaming process.
