.. _user.hierarchy: ============== User Hierarchy ============== A user hierarchy is a structured arrangement of items, such as tags, into different levels of groupings. This hierarchical structure helps in organising and managing information efficiently. By creating a clear hierarchy, you can easily navigate through the data, find relevant information quickly, and maintain an organised sructure. To review and manage the user hierarchy, you use the **User Hierarchy** section of the Navigation sidebar, which is a collapsible and expandable panel. Manage Levels in Hierarchy ************************** The top-level node in the user hierarchy is called a Hierarchy, and you can create multiple top-level hierarchies as required. Whenever you add a new level, the new level is inserted under the node that you selected. To add a new level or hierarchy, proceed as follows: 1. Right-click the node under which you want to insert the new level. If this is a top-level node, right-click the top **User Hierarchy** node: .. image:: images/user.hierarchy.level.png | 2. From the context menu, select |addblueplus| **Add Hierarchy** or |addblueplus| **Add Level** as required. 3. Enter the name of the level or hierarchy in the dialog that pops up. 4. Click **Save**. If you want to change the name of the level or hierarchy or you want to delete it, select the |editbluepen| **Edit Hierarchy**/**Edit Level** or the |deletebluebin| **Delete Hierarchy**/**Delete Level** context menu options, respectively. Add Tags to Hierarchy ********************* To add tags to the hierarchy, follow the steps below: 1. On the **Tags** pane, select the tags that you want to add to the hierarchy. 2. Release the left mouse button to drop the tags under the selected level. The new tags are inserted as the last nodes within the level. Single-Tag View *************** Once tags are added to the hierarchy, you can click on a tag to pull up a **Tag Detail** tab, which shows a trend and a grid of the data available for that tag. This feature provides a detailed view of the tag’s data. .. image:: images/user.hierarchy.tagdetail.png | Node-Level View *************** You can also get a node-level view by clicking on the node level. This pulls up a **Tag Summary** tab, which provides an overview of all the tags and elements within that node. .. image:: images/user.hierarchy.tagsummary.png .. |addblueplus| image:: images/icon.add.blueplus.png .. |editbluepen| image:: images/icon.edit.bluepen.png .. |deletebluebin| image:: images/icon.delete.bluebin.png
